A New Cat on the Block
This is our new little kitten (actually she belongs to my grandson that lives with us). She is no bigger than a minute so her name is MINNIE. She says "MEOW" to you all. She is part Siamese so she is a great talker. BTW she has 2 brothers who are looking for some nice people like the ones at fotopages to live with.

Fur in Motion
Caught my cat Max, just as he was rolling over. If you enlarge it you can see the motion of his fur better.

Mono Lake
High in the Eastern Sierra Mountains, sits Mono Lake. It is among the oldest lakes in North America, being at least 760,000 years old. Through its long existence salts and minerals have washed into the lake from Eastern Sierra streams. The fresh water evaporates from the lake each year leaving behind the salt and minerals. The lake which has no outlet is 2-1/2 time as salty as the ocean. In 1941 Los Angeles began diverting four of the major streams that feed Mono Lake. Without that water the lake dropped 40 feet and doubled in salinity. Because of the lake dropping you are now able to see the tufa formations that were previously beneath the water. These unusual spires are formed when calicium-bearing springs well up through the alkaline lake water, which contain carbonates. The calcium and carbonates combine, forming towers around the base of the spring. As the lake level drops, exposing the towers, they cease to grow. You can call them wierd, bizarre or just unusual, but they are amazing sights to see.( P.S. in 1994 the city of Los Angeles was ordered to start restoring the water to Mono Lake, which hopefully will save it.)

Another Sunset from California
What is there about a sunset that makes you run in and get your camera and start shooting? Although you have seen a million of them and taken about that many photos. I can never resist taking just one more shot.

Air Power
These are wind generators that are along Hwy 58 near Tehachapi, Ca. There are hundreds of them marching accross the hill tops with their propellers furious turning. They face every direction to catch the wind no matter where it comes from. Alternate energy is GOOD.
