Cactus Flowers

My beavertail cactus is beginning to bloom. So far only this one bloom but lots more are almost ready. After the blooms die they turn into a small red fruit called a cactus apple. You can make jelly out of it. Really good!!!!

Twelve years ago today, I recieved a very special phone call. It was from my daughter Jan that I had let go to be adopted 30 years before. She and her family have been a wonderful blessing in my life and I thank God everyday for bringing us back together. This is for Jan and my other two children, Wayne and Cheryl, and my seven grandkids that I love so much. I am so proud to be your mother and grandmother.
Happy Mother's Day to Mothers everywhere.

Today is my birthday and I thought I would share a glimpse of old time portrait studio photography. At least they had cameras, way back then. I have a hard time convincing my gradndkids that we did have a few things that are stiil around today.
